Osprey Atomiqs is an independent advanced materials company created through a carve-out from Sandvik. Founded in 1974, the business develops and manufactures gas-atomised metal powders, controlled expansion alloys and engineered materials for some of the world’s most demanding manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing, metal injection moulding, hot isostatic pressing and cold spray. Operating from qualified production sites in Neath, Wales and Sandviken, Sweden, the company serves customers across aerospace, space, defence, medical, dental, energy and automotive. Their materials are often qualified into specific components, which makes switching costly and keeps customer relationships long-standing. As a standalone company under Mimir’s ownership, Osprey Atomiqs is investing in capacity, new alloy development and international growth.
