Closed: acquisition of Puumerkki

MIMIR INVEST AB, a global investment firm acquiring non-core business units of larger corporations as well as private companies that need operationally oriented ownership, announced today that it has signed and closed the acquisition of Northern European building product wholesale and distribution company Puumerkki from Stora Enso.

Headquartered outside Helsinki, Puumerkki is a leading wholesale and distribution chain specialized in wood based products serving the construction, merchant, wood and sheet using industries. Puumerkki has the widest logistics offering in the Finnish market covering direct mill deliveries, logistics center deliveries and terminal services with 13 outlets across Finland and Estonia. Puumerkki boasts a 70 year legacy of excellence distributing wood products in and around Finland. In 2016 the company had c. EUR 160 million (SEK 1,500 million) of Revenue.

Puumerkki CEO Petrus Berg said MIMIR and Puumerkki is a great fit. “We are excited on behalf of our customers and partners. The investment in Puumerkki is MIMIR’s third since inception less than one year ago.
