Acquisition of Saint-Gobain companies in the Nordics

Carve-out from Saint Gobain S.A.

MIMIR INVEST AB, a global investment firm acquiring mature and growing companies, today announces the acquisition of Glassolutions Sweden and Norway from Saint-Gobain S.A. (EPA: SGO).

Headquartered in Sweden and Norway, the businesses are leading manufacturers and distributors of niche glass products. The combined businesses has historically delivered an annual turnover of €35 million and today employs 170 people.

”We are happy that Saint-Gobain chose Mimir as buyer of Glassolutions Sweden and Norway, something we hope is a testament to our creativity, mutuality and trustful way of doing business. The Mimir team look forward to partnering with Vidar Eikeset (CEO of the two companies) and the employees of Glassolutions Sweden and Norway to further develop the two companies’ manufacturing and distribution models. Mimir’s operations team offers decades of experience from working with manufacturing and distribution companies on a global scale to deliver growth and profitability to companies and partners”, says Jeff Bork, Managing Partner, Operations, Mimir.

“The success story of our glass goes back a long time in history both in Sweden and Norway why it was important for all employees that we found the right new owner of the companies. In Mimir I am confident we have found the right partner to develop Glassolutions Norway and Sweden outside of the Saint-Gobain group, while having the continued support of Saint-Gobain through a franchise agreement. Mimir brings additional resources and has seasoned expertise from building materials as well as many other industries.”, said Vidar Eikeset, CEO of the two companies.

The Mimir group was founded in 2016 and has combined revenue of more than EUR 300 million.
